The Tafseer-e-Qur’an course at Al-Maktab Islamic Academy is designed to guide students through the divine message of the Qur’an with clarity, depth, and spiritual relevance. This course introduces learners to the science of Tafseer — the scholarly explanation and contextual understanding of the Qur’an — using authentic classical and contemporary sources.
With focus on both linguistic and thematic understanding, students explore the meanings behind selected verses and chapters, while connecting them to real-life applications. The course aims to deepen the love and reverence for the Qur’an and empower students to engage with its message in a meaningful and transformative way.
Module 1: Introduction to Tafseer and the Qur’an
- Meaning, significance, and objectives of Tafseer How the Qur’an was revealed and preserved Types and sources of authentic Tafseer
Module 2: Thematic Tafseer of Selected Surahs
- Deep dive into Surahs like Al-Fatiha, Al-Baqarah, Al-Ikhlas, etc. Exploring major themes: Tawheed, Taqwa, Akhirah, Prophethood Understanding divine guidance for personal and social life
Module 3: Contextual & Historical Background
- Asbab al-Nuzool (reasons for revelation) Events and stories tied to specific verses Role of history in understanding the Qur’an’s wisdom
Module 4: Linguistic Beauty and Literary Style
- The eloquence and structure of Qur’anic Arabic Key Arabic terms and their rich implications Miraculous nature of the Qur’anic language

كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَـٰرَكٌۭ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
